A great number of cameras was a must not only for creating a unique drama perspective and sensation but also for Utopia itself.
Remote-control cameras are mounted at a lower level in an effort to consolidate Utopia's dramatic shoot. This is how we can shoot contestants at a low angle.
Audio track of each contestant is recorded for 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, and thus all the chats of any contestant can be saved as one single track for a year.
It was imperative to have a different structure than conventional production systems since the devices comprising the system called for an incessant and smooth run throughout the year.
What is Utopia?
A ground-breaking and brand new game show is underway on TV8...
Having never encountered each other before, 15 contestants met to build a life of their dream. Having left their life behind, these 15 contestants will start from scratch and create their own utopia. They share their earnings, expenses and lives. The contestants of Utopia will re-create their lives from scratch with no rule and under totally new conditions. One contestant will be eliminated by vote as a new one will join the ranks on this Utopia journey that will last for months. No one but 15 contestants striving to establish their own order in a Utopia. Neither a cameraman nor someone else! Making effort to build their own world, the contestants will be on live online broadcast for 7/24 with 110 cameras. 110 cameras will record a total of 2304 hours of recording.
A production such as Utopia requires a decent design of audio-video coverage and innovative technology. High quality and redundant systems are put into use in order to meet such requirements. This document includes technical arrangements necessary to enable the Utopia to succeed as a production. The content comprises images, audio and other meta data to monitor, at many angles, what Utopia contestants are up to throughout the day. Huge amount of data is acquired during the production, and efficiently processed on live internet broadcast and shows aired on TV8 for the day. So, it was required to provide top quality software and hardware in order to make sure that the show goes on for 24/7 and 365 days a year.

The Utopia site is divided into two: A living space where Utopia residents spend time all day long, and technical rooms where all means of production are located.
The Utopia living space consists of following spaces:
* A shelter where contestants live,eat and sleep
* A recreation area, a pond and surroundings where contestants spend time outside the shelter
* A barn with 2 cows and 25 chickens
* A pasture for cows to graze on
* Agricultural land where contestants grow fruits and vegetables
System components were mounted in the main equipment room outside the living space, and 2 connection rooms within the living space but contestants can not have access to, and the major audio and video connections were performed between these rooms.
Connection rooms were situated behind the shelter and the barn. Images from many cameras were gathered in these rooms and conveyed to the main equipment room through single mode fiber cables since coaxial copper cables were unable to transmit picture signals at such a distance.
Electrical/optical and optical/electrical converters of HD SDI signals were products by Axon and Canare. Images from a total of 48 cameras gathered behind the shelter by Axon GFT80 (8 channel electrical to optical converter) were converted by Axon GFR80 (8 channel optical to electrical converter) at the headquarter while Canare EO-100B (E/O-Converter) and OE-101B (O/E-Converter) are put into use and imaged were conveyed to the main equipment room through some cameras around the shelter and the barn, and the cameras in the mid and side sections. Images from a total of 55 cameras through fiber cables and 40 cameras through coaxial cables were transmitted to the main equipment room.
Images from some cameras and audio from microphones were transmitted to the main equipment room through copper cables. There is a speaker system to convey voice mails to contestants in the shelter and outdoor living space.
Copper and fiber local network (LAN) connections enable to keep constant track of humidity and temperature of the system for control and monitoring.
All the cabling of the system was conducted through the main cable channel outside the living space with a surface access between connection rooms and the main equipment room, and subsurface flexible plastic pipes where cameras and microphones were situated.

100 pieces of HD SDI cameras with a streaming quality that allows to control through remote-control units help the technical crew to capture multi-angle dramatic scenes. 50 of them are equipped with outdoor shields that ensure thermostat control ventilation and heating.
A 360° camera mounted within the shelter enables to watch the entire shelter live.
Cameras for the shelter
Remote-control cameras were mounted at a lower level (135-180 cm) in an effort to consolidate Utopia's dramatic shoot. This is how we can shoot contestants at a low angle. A limited number of cameras were mounted at a higher angle (300-500 cm) in order to capture a master shot and monitor whatever was going on.
Cameras were covered in colorful foil to camouflage them while some of them were mounted on the profile. Some cameras were positioned in a way to shoot in both directions and sections considering the walls to be built by the contestants in the future.
Outdoor cameras were mounted on robust and fixed posts through guards with thermostat control heating and ventilation while the cables were shielded by running through a pipe. Most of the outdoor cameras with remote control were positioned with lens levels of 25, 130 and 180 cm to reinforce and consolidate Utopia's dramatic shooting. A limited number of cameras were mounted at a higher angle (5-10 m) in order to capture a master shot and monitor whatever was going on.
There were a total of 100 Sony remote control cameras including redundant ones as well as 2 pieces of BRC-Z700, 84 pieces of BRC-Z300, and 14 pieces of EVI-H100S. IR feature of EVI-H100S cameras allows to shoot in dark thanks to the IR vision coming into play when the light is off in the barn and the shelter. BRC-SDP 12 cameras were used with matching mounting kit as an outdoor guard while the reverse ones were covered in a custom-made rubber guard to avoid any water leakage.
Developed for Utopia fans, this multi-lens camera with the ability to shoot surround videos can capture, paste and render panoramic HD videos for live streaming. Viewers can rotate their mobile devices for 360 degree or press on down/up/right/left buttons of browsers and watch live streaming within the shelter.
This camera and the system is provided by Talpa.
Another component to create not only a unique drama scene for Utopia but also a sensation is high quality audio throughout the production. The final audio of the production is composed of a combination of audio recorded from wireless microphones with different settings, and 48 high quality effect microphones.
Each of 15 contestants has an individual wireless microphone, and thus it was required to meticulously plan, design and mount the wireless microphone system in order to have a low-powered transmitter and incessantly gather the voices of the contestants across the entire Utopia area since such microphones are battery powered. To avoid static noise, a frequency spectrum analysis was performed in the location where Utopia would be situated to use the perfect hardware after ascertaining the best frequency intervals.
In addition, a wide diversity antenna system was put into use while the reception of wireless microphones transmitters was optimized. A total of 9 antennas helped to acquire perfect sound off microphones of each contestant even in imperfect positions for the use of wireless microphones such as when they lie down or sit.
Audio track of each contestant is recorded for 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, and thus all the chats of any contestant can be saved as one single track for a year. This is how to have a high quality work flow to minimize human error.
8 wireless microphones are reserved for visitors of contestants, and tested by miking before they check into the contest area. Visitors are photographed and the photos are uploaded on an automatic audio control system.
The system consists of 24 DWT-B01 waist-type transmitters, ECM-77BC miniature lavalier microphone, 12 DWR-R02D dual receivers, 3 WD-850 UHF antenna splitters/combiners and 8 AN-01 UHF antennas.
Wired effect microphones are used in order to capture the noise of media volume, and make use of it for post-production, and capture voices of contestants who can not wear a wireless microphone due to one reason or another. A total of 47 shotgun-type effect microphones are put into use.
Since a part of the microphones are used for outdoor, some custom-made guards were used to make sure they would not be affected by rain or snow as they serve as wind breakers. These microphones were phantom-powered since they are capacitive.
47 pieces of ECM 674 effect microphones and Rycote Windshield Kit were used for outdoor guarding.
All the technical equipment on the site fed on an uninterruptible power supply while the generator steps in when the power is out.
In this room, two crews check on the broadcast for 24/7. 2 directors and 2 camera control operators in the first line of the video mixing desk perform 4 (PGM1/PGM2/ISO1/ISO2) broadcasts. It allows to perform more broadcasts or shoots when needed.
The second line is home to the story editor whose function is to watch the show to sustain the story, and guide 2 meta data operators by his/her side, and help to combine picture, audio and meta data. The third line consists of two audio mixers with fully automatic features requiring no operator.
All operators in the video mixing room can watch images of 95 cameras mounted across the site, and 4 live streaming outlet on multi-screens. This is why 6 pieces of 65 inch screens run in connection with a HD SDI picture matrix. Colored camera notes indicating what camera belongs to what section help to have tally lights on screens, pointing to the fact the selected content is on air. 6 Sony FWD-65W855P 65" BRAVIA Full HD LED screen was used.
Each director chooses his/her PGM and ISO outlets off the matrix panel. There are buttons of cameras for each part of the area on the panel in line with the form on multi screens and painted in same colors. In addition, directors can touch on-screen pictures of contestants, and thus open/close faders of their own channels on audio mixers. The intercom system allows to contact with the relevant camera control operator.
Camera control operator
A camera control operator checks on cameras selected on the matrix panel thanks to 2 remote-control panel in front of him/her. Images of the selected cameras are monitored on two OLED screens, and the cameras are enabled to take desired actions while it is transmitted to the operator by the tally light on the monitor when the same camera needs to be selected for the broadcast. In addition, one can change settings of light, color, filter etc. when needed, and save them on the control panel's memory and recall them. In addition to the intercom system, a test measurement device for these settings is available for each part of the area to contact with the director.
Meta data inlet
This position allows to view 4 live broadcasts divided into four on a LCD screen. Meta data inlets run through a web-based interface software and save all contents with audio and picture for 24/7.
This is where the intercom panel is situated to contact with both director, meta data inlet operators and editors. This panel makes it possible to transmit previously-recorded voice mails on touchscreen computers or its own sound to indoor and outdoor speaker systems. In addition, the touchscreen control (touching rems of contestants), and the pre-audio control of both audio desks allow to severally hear (solo) each contestant before faders.
The picture matrix control panel allows to choose 4 delayed live broadcasts on a screen divided into four on one of 2 picture monitors, and the image of any camera on the other. The keys that turn on/off tally light letting directors and meta data operators know thanks to specific keys on the panel when something major occurs allow to steer live online streaming to previously-selected cameras in case of an undesired situation. The story editor is also able to hear phone calls of contestants.
Two audio mixers directed by automation under normal circumstances are mounted in the video mixing room so as to intervene in case of an emergency or complication (live concert broadcast etc.).

Imagine Communication 9RU platinum picture matrix was mounted as 128x48, and there were 2 PX-SXP-64x6 multiviewers in the matrix.
To control cameras, 128-port RS-422 matrix required to run in conjugation with the picture matrix was Nevion SL-D128P+ while it was controlled by the Axon Cerebrum software. In addition to the Cerebrum software that runs on 2 individual servers with supplementary ones, 10 Axon CCP-4801 48 LCD key control panels were used in order to control matrices.
Axon Cerembrum software makes it possible for users to have multi-functional control panels with varying structures. For instance, 2 panels were combined for directors, and painted in the same color with multiviewer screens of all cameras in line with the same collating sequence or assigning them to keys in numerical order led to easy and error-free use.
The picture selected by panels to control cameras is viewed on Sony PVM-A170 OLED picture monitors in front of operators while Sony RM-BR300 remote control unit helps to change pan/tilt/zoom settings of cameras and perform brightness or color control.
in case a camera is selected for one more broadcasts out of 4 for the sake of camera control, then tally lights on the screen will be on and warn operators. Tally controls are performed by Axon Cerebrum system as well while cameras selected on big screens for live broadcast are shown in different tally colors. Turned on or off by a director or a story editor when a major story comes up, the tally light can be viewed both in live broadcast outlets on multiviewer screens and live broadcast monitors divided into four.
Imagine Communication CMN-91-3GB Compact Monitor Series multiformat signal analyzer with integral LCD helps to apply timing settings of all sources and other level settngs.
Multiviewers provide 6 big screens (a total of 95 cameras and 4 live broadcast outlets), and 3 types (live broadcast/recorded, delayed broadcast and emergency/delayed) of screens divided into 4.
B&B and WordClock Axon created by Imagine Communication VSG4SYSV fully-supplemented reference generator system was transmitted through servers to each camera, wireless microphone receivers and audio mixers. Imagine Communication X100-1RU-2PS Dual Channel Intelligent Frame Sync and Converter was put into use to synchronize for IR cameras with no reference inlet.
Yamaha DM-2000 VCM Digital Production Console Dugan-MY16 16 channel automatic mixing cards were used as audio mixers. Effect microphones were directed to analog inlets on which phantom feeds were conducted. Wireless microphone outlets were directed into both consoles as AES by being multiplied by Axon servers. The console control is performed by selecting contestants on touch screens through an automation software developed by TV8 IT group. Dugan-MY16 16 channel automatic mixing card allows to select only contestants that start to speak for nice and smooth transition to the main outlet, and the channel is automatically turned off when they are done speaking.
Both PGM1 and PGM2 audio outlets are combined with 24 wireless microphone outlets severally and with effect microphones in groups for each of 4 live broadcast/recorded picture signals selected for a picture matrix outlet, and a total of 64 channel audio records can be saved on the system thanks to Axon HEB880 16 channel digital audio embedder.
Clearcom ECLIPSE-HX-PICO 36-port intercom system allows to have dialogue among all users and contestants.
Bosch Plena system and speakers were used for indoor and outdoor speaker systems.
Remote control and monitoring system for 24/7
It was imperative to have a different structure than conventional production systems since the devices comprising the system called for an incessant and smooth run throughout the year. Therefore, it was necessary to identify not only fully-supplemented systems but also breaking or underperforming devices. So, the following software items were put into use for control and contiunous monitoring of all devices:

The mounting of the equipment provided by Ateksis was kicked off in the final week of September 2014 while construction was still under way, and some parts of the system were mobilized within the first 10 days, and some rehearsals were performed on a gradual basis. Following a 30-day intensive effort, the entire system was ready for broadcast in a trouble-free fashion, and kicked off on October 29, 2014. Other systems (video recording, editing and broadcast encoders) of the project were developed and mounted by other companies and TV8 Technology crew.
Communication of Utopia residents in Utopia
As Ateksis, we provide the Utopia contest with all the telephone and message communications through Mitel Mx-One TSE IP-based operator and an IP Dect system by Ascom. The pillar of communications for contestants to make money over the course of the contest is built on a dect telephone by Ascom connected to IP-based telephone switchboard by Mitel. Ascom d62 Dect telephones allow contestants to move swimmingly across the entire contest space...These telephones with IP44 standards are splashing-water and dust resistant. In addition, Ascom d62 Dect is a phone that can receive and send messages... This is how all the calls and SMS can be submitted to contestants...
How does the system work?
The TV management shares a GSM number with viewers as a result of the show's format. It is one single GSM number...Smart Mx-One IP Traffic Manager by Mitel directly submits all calls to contestants after they are processed by a smart audio response system. If a contestant gives a call to someone outside, this smart system steps in to enable him/her to communicate with anyone and the outside world. Those who give a call to contestants or want to buy a product or a service they provide dial a GSM number just like a cell phone number, and the calls are processed by a smart audio response system... This audio response system warns outside callers about the fact that their call would be recorded. All the calls and messages are recorded and filtered if necessary for the security of contestants and the contest itself. Another feature that makes the system unique is the Smart SMS management system by Ascoma. This system allows you to monitor all the messages sent for contestants. Any "SMS" message for contestants are detected by the message management system by Ascom, and submitted to contestants after the content is checked. All the numbers and the content of SMS messages are recorded and retrospectively checked.

Ateksis was at Türk Traktör with Dengebir İletisim
Several locations are available in different brands of analog power plants institution, all power plants in locations shall be canceled, the sound operation of the infrastructure of data within a single structure in the intended use. To ensure the full voice integration of the system used in the analog DECT system to be established, Microsoft OCS program used by the Agency for text messaging was the development of targeted priority. This allows the full extent of the needs of MX-ONE TSE and CMG products. The adequacy of the technical services played an important role in product performance and preference.
Turkish Police, IP-PBX and VoIP in 81 sites
Turkish Police was one of the earliest adopters of Wide Area Networking in Turkey and their Department of Anti Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), was looking for an IP telephony solution. Their top priority was the reliable, secure, state-of-art and future proof solution which delivers the integrated and efficient communication throughout their operation.
KOM has chosen the state-of-art IP Telephony solution from Art Telekom, authorized partner of Ateksis. The solution consists of IP telephony solution at 81 cities of Turkey by using server based IP PBXes, IP and legacy wired terminals, DECT terminals for on-site mobility and central management for alarm and configuration for each site.
During installation phase, the other Ateksis’s partners, Dengebir and Delta, were joined to the team. Thanks for efforts of all parties, all the systems were installed and put into operation in 21 days.
We have installed all electronics, IT and visual systems of new parliamentary hall of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 2006. For each parliamentary seats, there are delegate mic, channel selector for listening interpretation, card ID, voting panel, a touch secreen motorized monitor with thinclient terminal for viewing voting results, agenda and archieve documents. There are also two large video screens to display video, presentations, voting results and as well as display speakers. With automatic camera control software, cameras instantly turns to speaker and display the name and previously recorded data of the speakers. A special custom design software has been developed and integrated with Bosch DCN software, in order to meet for specific operations and adaptation with Azerbaijan Language.
Salekhard City Theatre
This is a good example of our projects completed in extreme geografical regions. The main contractor YAMATA construction company, has asked us to implement the Sound, Lighting, and Video Systems projects which has been released by government authorities of Salekhard. We have supplied all equipment, Community Loudspeakers, Lab Gruppen Amplifiers, JBL Cinema systems, Christie Cinema Projector, Martin Robotic Lights, High End Robotic Projectors and Sony video and editing systems. This multipurpose hall is being used for shows, theathers and concerts.
All cabling, installation, as built projects, commisioning and training has been realized by Ateksis' team.
Tim Maslak Show Center
Thanks to Mr. Turker Inanoglu who has invested alot in the most prestigious show center in Istanbul. This show center project is one of our typical project which we have implemented all of Ateksis’s product range. Starting with Building Electronics like CCTV, Fire Alarm, Voice Evaquation, SMATV and building automation, then Conference and Interpretation systems, Video Display systems, Professional Sound and Lighting as well as Broadcast systems. The show center is in operation since 2005 and has hosted many worldwide known shows.
All design, cabling, wiring, installation, commisioning and training has ben realized by Ateksis team.
Ülker Arena Technology Partner; Ateksis
The hall was built by taking the halls where NBA matches were played as an example, and in accordance with the higher technology and comfort standards. Fenerbahçe International Sports Complex -Ülker Sports Arena- is a candidate for becoming a shining star of Turkish basketball with its 13.850 people capacity, its modern equipment and comfort.
At the lodges viewing the entire of the hall, the guests are provided with any kind of comfort. There are 44 highly luxurious lodges at the hall and all of them have been already sold out months ago. The fans bought the lodges will be able to watch not only the matches of Fenerbahçe, but also any concerts, national matches, and other organizations freely.
High End and Altman products were used for show lighting system. Within this scope, 14 High End Showgun moving head spots were installed at the hall roof. High End Roadhog Fullboar lighting control desk and DMX network enlargement units were used for the control of such spots. Walkways and entrances/exits at the tribunes were lightened through Altman ellipsoidal spots. Altman freshnel spots were used for the stage lighting of press briefing hall.
A digital audio network special to audio system has been formed within the building. Audio system amplifiers were placed at special rooms close to their broadcasting sections, and the broadcast was transmitted to such rooms from center via digital cobranet signals over fiber optic cables. BSS digital signal processors and HP network keys were used for the digital audio network configuration.
There is also a training site larger than the field of many teams within the complex. Here it was also used 6 set line array speakers including 5 VRX928 array speakers and 2 VRX915 subwoofers for each of the tribunes at both sides. Also it’s possible to audio broadcast through portable live broadcast cabinets during the trainings and matches via the multi-channel audio connections at the field side.
In the event of emergency such as fire, etc., any speakers at the audio system enter into the control of fire system via the special automatic switching systems, and so automatic emergency announcements can be made for entire building.
The safe communication need during the activities is met by using 4-channel intercom connection sockets placed throughout the building at catwalks on the roof, dressing rooms, referee rooms as well as connection boxes at the field side, and with the Clear Com intercom matrix as well as portable Clear Com intercom units.
For the infrastructure of live broadcast, the broadcast connection boards placed any potential camera positions, Canare and Neutrik fiber optic, triax, BNC and XLR audio connectors, as well as the cables supplied by the manufacturers such as Canare and Belden were used. The whole infrastructure is centralized at the connection center near the platform where outside broadcast vehicles will park. The outside broadcast vehicles parking there can access 30 live broadcast connection points around the facility over the connection cabinets. There are three different standard video and audio connection opportunities at each point; Triax, Fiber and Coax. Also coax and audio connection panels are used for the distribution of live broadcast signals at 6 different areas where press members will watch the matches.
Erler Film Transfers Film Archive to Digital
Erler Film preferred Opsigate -the new generation digital archiving solution of Sony- for its digital archive solution.
Erler film will be able to reach its records easily thanks to the Opsigate system provided by Ateksis, and minimize potential retardations and losses as the records take up a small place on the server.
Akihisa Obara, Head of OPSIGATE Work Group in Sony Professional Europe, emphasizes that the business manners of companies have been redefined as the OPSIGATE, which was developed as a result of long-termed studies carried out by Sony Professional, has totally changed the processing way of information assets, and he says that “Thanks to the technological developments of widely used internet and WEB 2.0 applications, the use of content distribution as a communication channel and its being integrated with other portals increasingly become more popular. Also, the social network service could not produce any solution for B2B yet. OPSIGATE, on the other hand, meets such need by storing the content and distributing its usage easily. In the system which has 3 ingest stations, it's performed to transfer of data stored in cassette media into the digital media with the inlets each of which is analog, firewire, and SDI. Any content previously transferred into digital media (DVD, external disc, etc.) can be incorporated in Opsigate system through file copy without any need for a conversion. As Opsigate is web-based, it's able to perform unlimited cataloging and inquiry under user authority.
Furthermore, with the Apple Final CUt Studio 7 system integrated into Opsigate system, it’s ensured that the content within the archive is re-constructed and transferred into different media (including DVD, Cassette). OPSIGATE runs without changing the original document format of all contents, and it can also be used for the purpose of supporting search actions for content metadata. Also the low-resolution copies (proxy) created automatically during recording enable that the content could be watched fast and easily. The data stored can be accessed through a CE device-based web browser without any need for installing extra additional client software, and examination can be made on the data. TRT Cocuk, Full HD Virtual Studio
Turkish Radio and TV Corporation(TRT) has awarded Ateksis to install a full HD Virtual Studio for TRT Cocuk Channel in Istanbul. We have completed this studio in 4 months and put in the operation in the beginning of April 2009. There are mainly three sets of Sony HDC-1400 camera chain, Sony MVS-8000 video swither, Studer Vista5 audio mixing console, Orad virtual studio HW&SW on Vinten e-heads and Jimmy Jib.
Ateksis at Haydar Aliyev Center Project
Haydar Aliyev Center Project (HAMP)’ the construction of which continues at Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will be one of the most important projects of the era when it is completed. The project of Zaha Hadid known for her imaginative designs is completely different from architecture of the city and it changes the architectural understanding in Baku. Apart from having a totally new architectural style different from other buildings at the city, the complex attracts special attraction across the country as it bears the name of Azerbaijani leader, Haydar Aliyev.
The project covers 101.000 sqm in total including the main building, parking lot, linking tunnel, technical center and landscape areas. Parking lot of the building, the foundation of which was laid in September 2007, was completed, and swimming pools, green fields and ramps were designed over the four-storey parking lot below the ground and within the landscape areas by Zaha Hadid.
The contractor company of HAMP project is “DİA Holding”, an affiliate of IC INVESTMENT Holding and INTERSUN Holding. It was a primary concern to ensure any systems to be used in the weak current of the building are in harmony of the architectural aesthetics. Product supply as well as installation and commissioning services for the Fire Alarm system in which the award-wining, aesthetic and invisible fire detectors of Bosch preferred by architectures were used, General Audio and Announcement, Card Pass, Gas Detection and BIS (Building Integration System) solutions are carried out by the technical team of Ateksis.
Ateksis, Partner of Hilton Bursa Convention Center&Spa and Hampton by Hilton Bursa Hotels
The hotels of Hilton Bursa Convention Center & Spa and Hampton by Hilton Bursa constructed and operated by Durmazlar Makine, one of the world’s leading manufacturers for metal treatment machines, and providing 3-star and 5-star concepts all together for the first time in Turkey have been put into practice. The IP closed circuit television system (CCTV), fire detection and alarm system, emergency announcement system, card pass system, and the application of Bosch security systems integration software where the 4 systems specified above are controlled under a common roof, which are used in both facilities, have been installed by Ateksis. The hotels of Hilton Bursa Convention Center & Spa and Hampton by Hilton Bursa have 35 thousand sqm space in total. Hampton, the 3-Star application of Hilton Hotels, has been practiced in Bursa for the first time in the world. The first one of the hotels, which were constructed side to side but independent of each other, the 5-Star Hilton Bursa Convention Center & Spa has 187 guest rooms 12 out of which are suits, 3 executive floors independent of other floors and an executive lounge enlivened by Uludag mountains scene, 12 meeting rooms in total 3 of which are VIP and all of which receive daylight, one closed ballroom with the capacity of 1200 people, one open ballroom with the capacity of 800 people, the Brasserie Restaurant providing service whole day by combining different cultures’ flavours with the Mediterranean Cuisine, the Atrium Lounge and Patisserie Vivienne for happy tea times or snacks, the Skylight Restaurant & Bar having a unique scene and rich options from world cuisines, the Spa & Wellness center with Uludag mountains scene including closed swimming pool, fitness hall, Turkish bath, sauna, massage rooms, steam bath and resting places, and the Speedy Entertainment Centre for an exciting experience with life-sized formula cars. 3-Star Hampton by Hilton Bursa, on the other hand, includes 107 guest rooms, the Lobby Restaurant, a fitness center and a fully-equipped meeting hall.
Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
Modular fire alarm panel FPA-5000 series of Bosch has been used at the facilities. Addressed fire alarm panel with the capacity of 20 loops has been used for Hilton section, while 12 loop fire alarm panel has been used for Hampton section. The system has approximately 3000 address capacity. Two panels operate as network and the states of the FMR-5000 series recurrence panel in lobby as well as of two panels can also be monitored at the lobby. In the sections available for customers’ common use in the hotel such as ballroom, meeting rooms, lobby, etc., Bosch’s invisible series fire alarm detectors were used and a highly classy appearance was provided architecturally. It was intended to detect any possibility of a potential fire as early as possible by locating equipment in a way that it’s possible to sense throughout the hotel by taking Hilton and Turkey standards into consideration. System runs as integrated with the mechanical systems within hotel, and it is monitored and controlled with entrance/exit modules where mechanical systems are used. The whole system is integrated with Bosch Security Integration Software (BIS), and it can be monitored and controlled via the graphic display monitoring and control software.
Emergency Announcement System
Prasedio digital series of Bosch was used and the system has a 59-zone capacity in total and it’s integrated with the fire alarm system. System zoning has been made according to the fire alarm release plan. Bosch’s announcement speakers which are in harmony with the architectural plan were used in the system. As specific music broadcasting system was used at general volumes, no separate emergency announcement speakers were used for such volumes, and the specific music broadcasting system and emergency announcement system used at such locations were integrated and so cost benefit was ensured.
Card Pass System
The most recent series of Bosch, the AMC series, was used. With the placement of card readers at specific volumes, it was prevented for customers and non-authorized persons to access such special sections. Fingerprint readers were used at the sections requiring high level security such as IT room in order to provide top protection. It was provided to track personnel by 1 turnstile located at the staff entrance. Also the fire exit doors are monitored by magnetic contacts installed on doors and the card pass system, and the alarm information is monitored by the system when such doors are used. Card pass system is also integrated with Bosch Security Integration Software (BIS), and the whole system can be monitored and controlled via the graphic display monitoring and control software. All entrances/exits can be monitored via the software and followed via the Autocad plan of the hotel.
IP CCTV System
IP series cameras of Bosch were used together with VRM series software. There are approximately 250 IP cameras within the hotel. Architectural aesthetics has been provided by using elegant dome cameras of Bosch at the volumes having suspended ceiling. Cameras appropriate for the location were used at the whole building and its surrounding inclusive of bed corridors within the hotel, and so the whole building and its surrounding can be monitored. Thanks to the Bosch IVA licensed cameras used, ‘Smart Image Analysis’ is made at general volumes. System is monitored on 4 32” and 4 19” monitors located at the security room. CCTV system is also integrated with Bosch Building security Integration Software (BIS).
Bosch Building Security Integration Software (BIS)
Fire alarm system, card pass system and CCTV system are operated as integrated, and they are monitored and controlled over the software. The software is licensed for 3000 points, 64 doors, 2000 card readers, 500 visitors, and 100 IP cameras in total. The status information of the system can be monitored via the icons placed on the building’s Autocad plans over software.
Application of A/V Systems
Hilton Bursa Convention Center & Spa has a great deal of major functions within its structure, as is evident from its name. There are 9 meeting rooms at the mezzanine, each of which is of different sizes. Some of them can be combined when needed in order to have a larger meeting and conference halls.
Architectural structures of the halls were designed and applied as highly suitable for multi-purpose use, and the video/data projectors hidden into the ceiling at all halls are used by activating them automatically with the automation system installed at each room together with the projection screen. Creston automation system was implemented for all such halls, and with such systems, it has become possible to prepare the hall for a conference in a second when they are used both alone and as combined.
The control of audio and video systems as well as ambient conditions (heat, lighting, and daylight curtains, etc.) is provided through wall-type button panels, desktop touch LCD panels, and touch wide-screen wireless panels available in each room.
Also there are 3 VIP meeting halls 1 of which is quite large. No one of the meeting rooms and/or halls requires technical personnel during utilization. Any functions required can be provided by the user only with a single key. Thanks to this system which was designed by eliminating human factor completely, all meetings and conferences can be held smoothly.
The ballroom was designed as it’s possible to divide into two parts, and technically equipped in a way that will meet the optimum conditions of use for congress/conferences as well as balls, and the meetings with live performances.
Hilton & Hampton by Hilton Bursa is in the foreground with its Spa, apart from being a congress/conference center. It’s 5 massage rooms, 1 of them is VIP- were fitted with Hi-Fi audio system allowing a different music option for each.
Bose loudspeakers were chosen for common spaces (lobby, patisserie, restaurants, executive lounge, Skylight Restaurant, game center) for high quality music broadcast, and Bittner Audio power amplifiers were used there; and any local control interfaces and signal processors were projected and applied as Creston. Control of ambient conditions (heating, lighting and daylight curtains, etc.) except A/V systems in such spaces above is provided through wall-type touch LCD panels and touch wide-screen wireless panels located on the related sections.
Ateksis Transformed CCTV System of Sabanci University into IP
Bosch analog cameras preferred by Sabancı University for CCTV system were transformed into IP through encoders with the project the installations of which were carried out by Ateksis.
The security surveillance of Sabanci University Campus Area, Student Dormitories, Parking Places, and Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) building is provided with 479 Bosch cameras, and the CCTV system which was formerly installed with analog cameras has been converted into IP by Ateksis via VIPX 1600 series encoders.
With the use of VIPX 1600 series encoders, the formerly installed analog cameras continued to be used, and so the investment made previously has been let off being inactive. Thus, the advantage of flexible management of the IP system was benefited for the CCTV system within the campus having a distributed structure. 2 monitoring points have been created for the solution in which fixed-dome and 465 VDC Series flexi-dome cameras were used. In the project where Archive Player Software has been used the VRM Software, 5 ISCSI units -2 12TB and 3 24TB- with 96TB capacity in total were used as Recording System.
For the card pass system of the recently constructed Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) building, on the other hand, the trademark of Bosch was used again, and most of the card readers within the building are fingerprint readers. It’s planned to replace any pass control units of the card pass systems previously installed within the university with Bosch trademark, and to have all card pass systems of the university become Bosch branded over time. The card pass system controlled via Bosch Security Integration Software (BIS) has 10000 user licenses and it has the capacity to expand when required with the additional licenses. The Bosch branded CCTV system installed runs as integrated with the Card Pass system over Bosch Security Management Software (BIS). At the system set up by Ateksis, when alarm is signaled from Card Pass System through the integration software, the display of the related camera is transferred to the monitoring screen of BIS software. The card pass system and CCTV system on Building Integration System (BIS) are controlled over a single software and so it has been ensured for systems to run as integrated.
Ateksis Sounds New Subway Line of Istanbul – M3
General sound and emergency announcement systems of M3 subway line were implemented by Ateksis
General sound and emergency announcement systems of M3 subway line which will be put into service in the upcoming days were also implemented by Ateksis after T1 line and Metrobus line at the rail system of Istanbul.
With the M3 subway line intended to be opened in the upcoming days; the Istanbulites will have a new subway route. Total length of the M3 line which is designed in accordance with the 180 m trains having 8 parts is 15,9 km. The passenger transport capacity of the line is 70.000 per hour with 11 stations. With the transit to be carried out at Kirazli station, this line will link the passengers to M1 line (Aksaray to Airport) and, on future dates, to the Marmaray.
While any construction and electromechanical works were carried out by Gülermak – Doğuş Ordinary Partnership for M3 line, the general sound and emergency announcement systems were projected by Ateksis.
Most significant criterion: sound clarity
Stating that the most significant criterion for a subway station is the clarity of sound, the specialists also declares that it’s important for such clarity factor to be stable any time and in any circumstances, and to keep the same level both at the rush hour and at the most isolated time.
The working process initiated with the EASE works carried out for all stations has been continuing with the acoustic simulations created by the project engineers by moving architectural projects into the EASE environment and the determination of the proper locations and numbers of loudspeakers at the stations through EASE simulations. Then, microphones measuring the noise and changing the output of amplifiers automatically according to the ambient noise level are implemented in order to control automatic sound levels. In this way, it’s ensured that the sound of announcements is high-level when the number of passengers is high and when the train comes; while it is low-level when the passenger number is less. The main target herein is to keep volume of the announcement above the noise at all times in a way that will not disturb passengers.
The process of determining field equipments is followed by the stage of the selection of central equipments at the stations.
The system chosen must be a system;
• that latency and equalizer settings of which may be performed at its outlets in order to enhance clarity factor (DSP),
• Speaker lines of which are supervised, that can be followed both at the station and at the center in the states of open-circuit and closed-circuit,
• that auxiliary amplifiers are immediately enabled automatically in case of any amplifier failure at the stations,
• that the stations can be monitored and controlled at a centre via TCP/IP network, and that the sound signal from center to local is moved via TCP/IP network,
• that it’s possible to announce from both local and center, that can give priority for central announcements, That can announce for separate zones at the same time,
• That can make central (informing / advertisement) and local (emergency / evacuation) automatic announcements,
• that is open for integrations to be intended in the future with the 3rd party systems such as passenger informing via OPC structure,
• that has its system amplifiers on separate floors as required by the locations of some stations, but operates the system as a whole,
• that is easy to operate and user-friendly.
The solutions that will meet all of the demands specified above have been provided and applied with the combination of engineering skills and experience of Ateksis and the power of Bosch Praesideo series digital system.
Central configuration stages
At the first stage of central configuration, the central control software was developed, which runs on a touch screen computer. Such software designed according to special requirements of the project provides opportunity for operators to choose stations and sub-sections of the stations on the touch screen, and to make any announcement they wish.
At the second stage, the local system center has been designed in accordance with the amplifier calculations conforming to the power of loudspeakers at each station. Bosch Praesideo NCO units used as system admin at the stations perform the tasks such as automatic volume control, latency, equalizer, line supervision, auxiliary amplifier control, and announcement prioritization. With the 28-channel structure of Praesideo system, the music broadcasting, local announcements as well as central announcements may be performed at the same time.
At the third stage, priority planning has been done within the system.

It’s possible to move both sound and control information by performing the communication between the center and stations via inter-stationTCP/IP network system.
The designed and applied system has a modular structure, and it’s suitable for both local additions and station locations.
Also, there are 650 Bosch cameras supplied by Ateksis at CCTV part of the same project.

Medipol Mega Hospitals Complex
Building electronic system of Medipol Mega Hospitals Complex has been put into practice by Ateksis. All systems of the project which was initiated with the frame of the hospital and expanded continuously with the additions of oncology hospital, cardiovascular hospital and parking place have an ever-expanding structure accordingly. Recently, a dental hospital was integrated with the main frame in the project, and the expansions were realized smoothly thanks to Ateksis engineering and the flexibility of Bosch products.
Bosch BIS software was used in the cabin of the system and thus it was ensured that the fire detection, card pass and CCTV systems could communicate with each other on the basis of software and that the operators could monitor and manage the system over floor plans of the building.
Within the hospital complex, the fire safety has been provided through control panels of FPA 5000 series networked each other, and 32 FPA 5000 control panels may be networked each other.
Announce system was configured as 36-zone, and it was made possible for it to enlarge with router additions as the hospital complex expanded. Bosch Controller unit communicating directly with the fire panel could perform the functions of airplay, manual announcement and automatic emergency announcement all at the same time.
CCTV system was built as hybrid. Analog cameras within the complex go to network via IP encoder units, and they are monitored and operated with IP cameras of 720p resolution.
Analog cameras record on 700 series recorders, while IP cameras record on ISCSI recording units. Despite such different recording media, it has been ensured that monitoring and operating may be performed on a single interface.
Access control panels with AMC card from Bosch professional series run over TCP/IP network through BIS software. With 170 card readers in total, the authorized entrances / exits can be controlled via Bosch card pass system throughout the building.
Also any controls regarding the meetings such as lift projector, curtain, presentation selector, lighting, and music source are being controlled by Creston automation system, and can be operated over iPad.
